Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions

1.Sear the Steak :Sear fast to avoid drying out the beef.

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Add cubed steak in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes until browned. Reduce heat slightly, add 2 tbsp butter, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp salt, $\frac{1}{2}$ tsp pepper, and $\frac{1}{2}$ tsp paprika. Stir for 1 minute to coat, then remove from heat and let cool completely.

2.Cut Puff Pastry :Keep pastry cold while working.

Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out 1 thawed sheet of puff pastry until smooth. Cut into 3- to 4-inch squares or rectangles using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.

3.Fill & Crimp the Parcels :Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks.

Place a small spoon of cooled steak and a generous pinch of shredded cheese in the center of each square. Fold dough over filling, press edges firmly with your fingers, and crimp with a fork to seal tight.

4.Glaze with Egg Wash :Egg wash creates a deep golden-brown sheen.

Transfer parcels to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with 1 beaten egg. Optionally sprinkle with extra black pepper or sesame seeds.

5.Bake Until Golden :Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.

Bake in a preheated oven at $400^\circ\text{F}$ ($200^\circ\text{C}$) for 15 to 20 minutes until puff pastry is puffed, crisp, and golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
