Step-by-Step Instructions

1.Sauté the Vegetables :Sauté onions and peppers until soft.

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and green bell peppers; cook for 6 to 8 minutes until softened and caramelized. Transfer to a plate.

2.Sear the Thinly Sliced Steak :High heat ensures quick browning without overcooking.

Increase skillet heat to medium-high. Add shaved steak, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes until browned. Stir the caramelized peppers and onions back into the skillet with the steak.

3.Pre-Toast the Bread :Prevents moisture from soaking into the crumb.

Preheat oven to $375^\circ\text{F}$ ($190^\circ\text{C}$). Slice bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet. Spread garlic butter over the cut sides and bake for 5 minutes until lightly toasted.

4.Assemble the Cheesy Bread :Layer cheese under and over the steak.

Line the pre-toasted bread with provolone slices. Spoon the steak, pepper, and onion mixture evenly over top. Finish with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

5.Bake & Broil :Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 15 minutes.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Optionally broil for 1 to 2 minutes for golden spots. Let cool 3 minutes before slicing.
